This is a stunning life size bronze bust of the impressive aviator Jean Mermoz signed by Gibert to the left shoulder. Lucien Gibert is registered in many books (i.e. Benezit). Lucien Gibert (1904-1988) was a Parisian sculptor. Trained in the workshop of Jean Boucher at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
